Family Photos in Old Sac

I had done a cosplay shoot with Jackie a while back and had no idea she’d get in contact with me to photograph her family! Her four kids were visiting and got all dressed up for the occasion - they looked great! I selected Old Sacramento as our photoshoot location because I thought the rustic backdrops would work well with what they had on. I was right. Their style was a perfect match for the scenery.

Children can be very difficult to work with. My own son is notoriously hard to get in some sort of structure. One of Jackie’s kids started off with some reluctance in the shoot, but as we took a few pictures they totally warmed up. In fact, I saw the family later and this particular child came up to me and wanted to show me their ice-cream cone. I’m glad I was able to win them over!

Our little session lasted only about twenty minutes, but that was definitely enough time for the kids. They wanted to go and get some candy! Thankfully I was able to work quickly and get the shots I wanted with out much fuss or time setting up. If you’re looking to get beautiful, natural photography of your kids or family let me know!
